Cast #2

It's been two weeks....so time to cut off the above-elbow cast and trade it in for a smaller version!  Yippee!  Tag was very excited to get this show on the road and have a little more mobility.  Not to mention, a new color....

Cast saws don't frighten this big guy...

There's my arm!  But only for a split-second...

He chose blue this time...

New cast...and slightly deflated balloon corsage from last night.  Priceless.

Akeman Benefit

The Annual Akeman benefit was today.  It was amazing to see so many people rallying around this precious family.  The auctions were a lot of fun, food was yummy, kids loved the face painting and balloon lady!  But the best part was seeing the faces and hearing the hearts of Angie and Paul as they shared where they are on their journey.  God is faithful, but they still have such a load to bear.  Praying that the benefit will raise the much needed funds to offset some of their medical bills for precious Avery.  Lord, please continue to hold this dear family in the palm of your hand.  They have inspired so many people through the trials they are enduring, and the joy they are exuding in the midst of them.

The balloon lady made Tag a crown...pretty fitting with his royal, purple cast (that comes off tomorrow!)
And Princess Beth a royal sceptor....

So why not add a Batman mask to the mix?

Kissing Frogs

Beth was cast in a student film at Stephen F. Austin State University called Kissing Frogs.  She played the main character in a flashback to when she was a little girl.  Beth did such a good job!  She filmed all day today in Nacogdoches...and it ended up being a really sweet mother-daughter bonding time.  We had fun on our drive to and from, had a special lunch at Chick-Fil-A (of course!), and had a ton of fun on the set.  It was our first real film set to be on...so we both learned a lot from these very talented students.  And they picked the perfect girl for the role- because Beth loves animals sooo much!  I can't imagine what we've done if she was one of those girly-girls who got grossed out from touching a frog.  Not Beth!  Just look at her smile.  She couldn't get enough of these cute, little froggies....

Meeting the frogs...

Beth is pretty excited!
Writer and Director, Olivia Cauthen, giving Beth her instructions.  She was so wonderful to work with!

Right after filming the bridge scene, it began to rain.  It was awesome to watch these students at work...covering all the cameras and equipment quickly and efficiently...erecting a tent for the talent so they would stay dry.  We waited for about 30 minutes...but then the show had to go on!  So, they just went for it, were flexible, and still made magic happen....

Glowing girl, super-fun day!  Blast watching Beth shine for the Lord...

Faith Anna's Medieval Festival

Faith Anna's 3rd grade Medieval Festival was today!  She had the choice of which character she dressed as....and she chose a peasant!  Didn't she look so cute? Her project was on an Illumination.  She chose to illuminate the word "Trust"...and talked about how Proverbs 3:5-6 are some of her favorite verses.  I am so proud of the young woman Faith Anna is becoming.  And she is such a gifted speaker...she has such stage presence, is comfortable, and is able to even joke with the audience.  Everyone afterward came up and complemented her on her presentation.  Way to go, girl!

Great job, Faith Anna.  We sure had fun with you today!
