3 months old!

Tag is 3 months old....I can't believe it! The time has flown by. He is sleeping throught the night, smiling, laughing out loud, cooing and making all kinds of cute sounds. He is a little love and is extremely fun to snuggle. He weighs about 15 lbs and is growing like a weed. This little man has really made our household light up...

Logan can still make him smile and laugh bigger than anyone else...

I love this little grin...

And Miss Claire is one month old! She and her mama came to visit on the 15th and we celebrated her and Tag's "birthdays". She has changed so much in the last few weeks...such a cutie-pie.

Our kids finally got to hold Claire! They weren't allowed in the room when she was born...and then all of them were sick for a few weeks over Christmas break so I wouldn't let them touch her! :) Now all are well and very excited to love on their new cousin.

Beth was the most excited to hold Claire... and she did a great job! She loves babies... have I already mentioned that?

The cousins. Don't worry big boy.... she'll catch up soon!

Hope you all are staying warm this January! We love you...

Reminiscing...

January 1994 is when I began falling in love with Luke. I have it written on my calender each and every year on January 12th so I will always remember.

So today I actually pulled out my journal from all those years ago and had fun looking back and remembering those early days. Luke and I were on the same YoungLife team at A&M and of course started out as just friends....

Don't the scanned-in pictures just crack you up? Ahhh the days before digital photography. This is one of our first dates. I knew right away that Luke was very different than any guy I had dated before. There was something special about him...he definately had the prince charming- thing going on and swept me off my feet. I knew from the beginning that he was someone that I could spend the rest of my life with.

April of 1994 when I first told him that I loved him....

This is August of 94 after we'd been dating a few months. We both worked that summer for YoungLife's Trail West Family Camp. On some of our off-time, we hiked our first "14-er"... Mount Princeton. We signed our names in the time capsule at the peak and sang "We exalt Thee" at the top of our lungs...

A year later... July of 95 when Luke professed his love by sending my engagement ring down a kite string. Such a fun day!

March of 96...wedding bells were ringing. That day was like a fairytale. And that was one great kiss!

On our honeymoon cruising somewhere out in the Carribbean...

Only been married a week... and even more in love. Home from the cruise and on our way back to G-town.

Luke carved this in an aspen tree the summer of 94 when we were working in Colorado. We went back for our one-year wedding anniversary and searched out in the snow for this tree. If this was taken after only a year, imagine what it looks like now! I would love to go back and see it again. Maybe we'll have to add that to the agenda when we head up for Landon and Whitney's wedding! Thanks for letting me reminisce about the flood of memories I have this time of year. I am so thankful for Luke. And so much more in love with him today than ever before. He is an amazing husband, friend, dad, son, and doctor. And he still makes me laugh...crack up actually...pretty much everyday. :)

Out and about with four...

Nothing like those early January strolls with 4 kids, one dog, and one Baby Emma. Logan rides his bike, Faith Anna is usually on her scooter, and I push the other three with one hand and hold Deets' leash with the other. :) Doesn't Tag look snuggly in his cozy outfit?

This day, Faith actually decided to leave her scooter behind and walk Deets for me. She did a great job and got a kick out of "power walking" with mom.

Here is our macho man at 2 1/2 months.

Bath time!

Look who found his thumb. Oh no...

Cute little grin.

And last but not least.... a sight we often see pretty much every day in the Burton house...
The girls nursing Baby Hallie and Baby Emma. Just wanted to leave you with a laugh!

Wide Open Spaces

January 4th was a big day for Faith Anna! She lost her first tooth.... although she is confused why everyone refers to it as "lost". "It's not lost, Mom," she said. "I think people should say, 'I kept my tooth!' instead." Beth has another affectionate way that she refers to Faith's lost tooth...she calls it her "open space". It's so funny to hear her say, "Hey Thaith...I see your open space!"

Pretty cute. She put it in her pink tooth pillow that night and the tooth fairy is the one who "kept" it! Faith didn't mind letting it go though in exchange for her first silver dollar...
I vividly remember Logan losing his first tooth a few years ago...and Faith Anna just doesn't seem old enough to have lost hers as well! Growing up too quick.

She also had her very first ice skating lesson from Luke's cousin Sydney...who most of you know is our resident family professional! They had a lot of fun out on the ice. Sydney is such a sweet young lady...so kind of her to offer to take Faith skating while she was home from college.

Faith Anna only lasted about 15 minutes out on the ice. But it seemed to have been long enough to make her beg me on the way home to let her take ice skating lessons! ha. Sydney told me that she started skating when she was six...so that's how we resolved the pleading. "How about when you're six, Faith Anna?" Good! 7 more months to think about that one... :)
