6 months old

Tag is 6 months old! It has been a fun March and April with this little guy. He is just over 17 lbs and is 28 inches long. He smiles all the time, laughs out loud, and tries to copy our voices when we talk to him. His favorite place to be is in the supersaucer (or on one of our hips!)...and his newest toy is the doorway jumper. He's still not real sure what to do in it, but loves for us to spin him around and bounce him up and down. He's eating all kinds of mushed up yellow veggies, fruit, and yogurt...he loves pretty much anything we give him to eat. We'll start those green veggies in a few weeks...so that will be the real test. :) He also got to visit my aunt and uncle's hunting camp this month and sat on his first 4-wheeler (pics coming next blog.) He frequently flips himself over in the crib and gets stuck on his tummy.... and cries this pitiful cry of "come rescue me!" But on the floor when he's playing, he has plenty of room to roll all over the place...which he loves. He continues to be such a happy, flexible baby...and we are all so glad that God put him in our family. Hope you enjoy the pics!

Happiest when outside....and in the saucer!

Still loves the Bumbo seat. We feed him in this...it is really convenient! But can't leave him even for a second...he's just started trying to twist himself out of it... :)

When not eating babyfood in it, any rattle or toy will do.

Love those giggles.

In the new jumper... hmm...what do I do in this? Guess I can still eat my fingers.

This is probably my favorite little grin that he gives us. So cute.

Tag meets his Nanny!

Luke's sweet grandmother came into town yesterday and got to meet Tag for the first time! She is such a precious person in our lives. Tag just laughed and laughed sitting in her lap. I'm so glad that we got to visit with her and Boo. It was a very dear time together... Thanks for sharing your evening with us, Nan. And by the way, I sure hope I look that fabulous when I'm 86! :)

Ticklish

Our little guy is 5 1/2 months... and oh so ticklish! I just love the giggles...
He's eating lots of rice cereal and yellow veggies...and thinks they're the bomb! He also just cut his first two little bottom teeth. These next few months are one of our favorite photo op times because those two new little choppers show up in every pic. Oh so cute...

American Girl Boutique and Bistro

Boo and I took the girls on a special date to the American Girl Boutique and Bistro today. It was so much fun. The girls loved looking at all the dolls and accessories! As we were walking in the doors a group of 20-something year old girls were just leaving.... they smiled and said, "It's even fun for big girls like us!" It was very cute. We had a great time! The girls are such good company...and it was a treat to take Granny Boo with us. Oh, and Tag went along too...he slept pretty much the whole time. Such an awesome, flexible baby. He probably wouldn't have been interested in all that "girl stuff" anyway. :)

Baby Hallie and Baby Emma went along with us...

Faith meeting "Julie"...

Beth loved all the Bitty Baby stuff...

Looks like my double jogger!

She didn't want to leave without Julie. It motivated a great talk about patience and how things are often more special when we have to wait for them. Although she wasn't so convinced while still in the store...by the time we were on the way home in the car she had gained some new wisdom. From the backseat of the burbo she announced,
"Mom, I guess I can wait for Julie because I love her SOOO much....and 1 Corinthians 13:4 says, 'Love is patient'. So I'll be patient and wait." Amazing how much they soak up! Thank you Lord.

You can even get the dolls hair done! Somebody out there was pretty smart when they created the whole scope of this thing....

Lunch at the Bistro. Faith Anna spys a "Julie" doll that she could borrow to have lunch with at our table...

Beth with Baby Emma and another "borrowed" baby that she chose to dine with us...

Granny Boo, Julie, and Faith....

Fun fun at the Bistro! As Boo and I were walking out with the girls, I was trying to explain to them what a privilege it is to get to go and have lunch and buy souveneirs at such a special place. They were skipping along ahead and totally tuning me out... but Boo caught my train of thought and reminisced with me. It has only been a little over a year now that we could even get to do something special like this. God has truly brought us on a journey over the last 12 years....from borrowing all that money to pay for post-grad education....having Logan on Medicaid and using WIC to buy his formula and our groceries...having two more babies on a meager Resident's salary while we chose for me to stay home and raise them ...to finally being at a place where we can begin to pay off loans, give to others, and enjoy some of the fruit of all those years of labor. I just never want my kids to take it for granted. And of course, I give all the glory to Jesus who has brought us on this crazy, fun, wild ride! I truly feel like I'm living the dream. And it's all the more meaningful because we started with so little. Well, so little money that is.....but so so much love, grace, joy, and forgiveness. That's where true riches are. Don't ever let me forget either, Lord.

Friends...

I just had to take a picture of what I saw when I went to tuck Beth in bed a couple of nights ago. These are all the friends that she chose to sleep with. Isn't this a total crack-up? She is so funny...

Yummy Food...

Well, we didn't start with a bib...and after a few spoonfuls, we just decided not to worry about it. It was already all over his shirt, face, arm, pants, and bumbo seat! Ha. Fun and messy...
