Summer Recap Part 2-Bay View

Oh the summer days of Bay View! Our family was able to spend several weeks this year enjoying the cool breezes of Michigan, spending time with cousins we haven't seen in a year, and pausing to soak up the peacefulness of rocking on the front porch.

There are so many things I love about Bay View. I love that Luke grew up going there each summer....and so did his mom, and his grandmother, Nanny, and her mother, Gagi. I love the familiarity of it all. There is a sweetness that you can't really find anywhere else....of family, of peace, of kindness, of joy. And oh how I love the sunsets.

We hit the beach immediately! We all love the beach....but as long as you remember your jacket! Ha. It was ch-ch-chilly. :)

Logan won the "greased watermelon" contest....

And Tag won the "I ate the most of the greased watermelon" contest.

Man, he loved that melon! I think he ate about 5 slices!

Beth met a sweet friend in her kids club named Janie. They hung out most of our time there...

Luke's brother, Jordan, amazed us all again with his kite-boarding prowess. He drew huge crowds to the dock that ooohh-ed and ahhhh-ed each time he buzzed by.

The girls and I in our "matching shirts". (They love for us all to match.) We had a fun evening with Granny Boo going to see the Wizard of Oz.

Scooters were another big hit of the summer!

Porch time with Uncle Jordan

The gazebo at this park is one of our favorite places to hang out...especially if you have a bag of goldfish handy...

Gazebo girls...

and boys.

Shoot the canon, vote for Shannon! (wait, that was my 5th grade campaign slogan when I ran for Secretary of the Student Council....) The kids love playing on this old canon at the park.

Me and my boy.

Blue ice cream is delicious!

Family pic with all the generations. Look how tiny Nanny is there in the center! :) She is such a wonderful grandmother.

Putt-putting Pirates...

and cupcake lovers.

Playing in the front yard with Granny Boo.

Luke's cousin Sara came to visit with her two kiddos. This is baby Henry sitting in Nanny's lap. We loved meeting Henry! Such a sweet, happy baby...

Tag with Sara's daughter, Meg. She and Tag were quite the playmates. She is a little doll!

Beth loved Henry best of all. She loves babies and asked to hold him constantly. She is such a good nurturer.

Sidewalk chalk is fun!

I love this pic of Tag. He absolutely loves the water. He mostly loves to throw rocks in the water....but here he is admiring the bay.

Faith Anna and Meg are trying to touch the top of the clock tower.

The"waterfall park" is another of our favorite, must-play spots. The kids splashed all around in the water, jumped the little creek, and explored under the waterfall. All while the adults ate the most delicious pizza! :) (Ha-Ha...you know what I mean Boo and Sara!)

Nanny loving on Tag. Who doesn't love a little help eating ice cream? This is one of our favorite dinner spots in Bay View....the back porch picnic table.

Reading with Daddy on the front porch. We love to check out books at the BV Library.

Aunt Sue, or "G", with Mr. Henry. Isn't he cute??!

Last day in Michigan. Had to measure Logan against Nanny before we left....this will most likely be the last summer that she "towers over him". :) We love you Nanny! We had such a wonderful time with you!
