Summer Recap Part 1- Lose your Life

July brought our annual week at Pine Cove's Family Camp. Our kids look more forward to this week than they do Christmas!! The theme for this summer was "Lose your Life" from Matthew 10. It was awesome talking with our family about when you truly lose your life for Christ's sake....that's when you really find it. It's all about Him...not about us. We had an amazing week reconnecting with each other and with other families that are on this same journey we're on!

This family portrait was taken on the first theme night, "Mad about Plaid!"

Logan participated in some serious sports...

...and Tag in some serious sandplay.

Banana boats!

Banana boat crashing.

My cutest, brown-eyed, 2-year old.

Tag the horseman

Giddy-up, Beth :)

Buffalo Hunt....this is where the kids get to roll around in a huge mudpit while chasing their counselors. Sounds fun, huh?

Faith Anna loved it!

Logan said it rocked.

Beth hardly got dirty.

And Tag wished so much that he had been old enough to go too! All his class got to do was play in the wet sand. Darn.

Talent show night. Logan and Faith Anna performed "Fireflies". They did such a great job!!

And Faith Anna did her own choreographed solo ballet number to Jill Paquette's "Only Jesus". It was beautiful!

Logan and Jacob doing a little wrestling on the blob.

Still friends afterward... :)

Matt, Mark, and Luke (and is that John?) after the tug-of -war contest. (No that's Tangy Zip!)

The Green Hungabee Cabin Men WON the tug-of-war contest!!

Yeah! Go Green! The 2nd guy from the left really carried the team....

Beth and Tag on Plaid night...

Faith Anna and her new friend Lauren

One of the highlights of this summer is that Logan and Faith Anna both decided to be baptized at Pine Cove. They both became followers of Jesus a few years back, but have waited to be baptized until they really understand what it was all about. We explained how it was just a public profession of your faith, and they both felt like they wanted to do it at camp. Cool part was....Luke got to baptize them!!

Faith Anna's turn. She was so excited that her Daddy got to be the one to baptize her!

So special! We will never forget this day...

Pool time!

Tag did the big slide for the first time!

AND he did the zipline for the first time...

Zip on!

AND he jumped off the diving board for the first time...

Cute boy. On the last day of camp they give out several different awards. Tag won the "Most Adventurous Camper" for being the youngest to try all these new things! :)

Last theme night was "Seuss on the Loose". Here is Logan with his counselor, Martial Arts, during the CQ (Character Quality) ceremony. One of my fav parts of the week!

Faith Anna with her counselor...Giraffe A Laugh.

Beth with her counselor, Whirl.

All my fishies...

I love my crazy family! We had so much fun!!

Dance Recital

The girls performed in their spring dance recital the first weekend in June. They did such a great job! This was Faith Anna's first year to take tap, and she has become quite the tapper I must say! The girl truly has talent. :) She is also the most graceful 7 year-old ballerina around. And this was sweet Beth's very first recital....and she was in 4 different dances! That's a lot for a 5 year-old to memorize. But she did outstanding! Those dimples sparkled all the way to the back of the theater. Thanks to all of our family who was able to make it out to the show to cheer them on. And thanks so much to my brother Brandon who took some amazing no-flash pictures during the performance. You'll see them at the end of the blog....they are fabulous! Enjoy...

Sisters...

Isn't this the cutest tap costume? She performed two different dances in this one. "Route 66" was my fav!

My big blue-eyed, big dimpled ballerina. This blue outfit complimented her pretty eyes so well!

Nat and Caroline after the show with the girls. Peter hung with Logan so it would be cool to be a boy and still be there.... and Bran was our photographer!

My parents with the girls

Leonard, Liz, and Gwimmie with the little ballerinas

Boo and Chris loving on the ladies

Daddy's girls

Here are the "action pics" Brandon took during the performance. Aren't they just spectacular?
