Happy Halloween

Here are the Burtons....Fairy Princess, Football player, Darth Vader, and Hannah Montana.... heading to our church's Fall Festival this past Wednesday. Pretty cute, huh?

Tag discovering lollipops....yum.

Isn't this hilarious? He loved the big slides.

And this big football! Made one 2 year old VERY happy...

And these are from tonight, trick or treating in our neighborhood. We had so much fun!

Faith Anna wanted to pose by our neighbors' little landscaped area....funny, huh? She cracks me up. Well, the girl knows how to pick her setting.

Anticipation....
Wait for it....

Tag couldn't wait any longer, so he just walked on up and tried to open the door.

Trick or treating in style.

Tag and his buddy down the street, Alex.

Cupcakes=happiness.
Hope you all had a fun night!

Nine years ago...

Is it possible that nine years ago, our first baby boy came into the world? Am I really that old? :) Yes, due on October 16, then induced on October 20th, and finally making his grand, 9 pound 4 ounce entrance, 23 hours later on October 21st....Logan Ely Burton! What a wonderful day that was in Galveston, TX. I was one happy, tired mama.
Logan is such a great kid. We couldn't be happier that he is the eldest in our family. What a joy he's been....such a great big brother, so kind and respectful to others, just so much fun to be around. And what a tender heart this boy has...really thinks of others first and is very compassionate. Loves the Lord with all his heart. What more could a mama ask for? And oh those blue eyes, that tousled blonde hair, and those freckles on his nose. Makes my heart melt. Thank you Lord for this gift of a son. Can't wait to see what all you have in store for this sweet boy one day!

Birthday morning.

Traditional breakfast cinnamon rolls.

Birthday party with his guy friends.

Boys like to get messy.

Fun time! Happy Birthday Logan!

My baby is 2!

Tag is two years old today.  I can hardly believe it.  My heart is overwhelmed by the joy and love this little man has brought into our lives these past couple of years.  And to think what life would be like without him....well, it just hurts.  I am so thankful that after so much prayer about having a 4th child, after a miscarriage, after a peace about not having anymore....that God still chose to bless us with this precious son.

And then, to make it even more interesting....he made a surprise entry into the world 3 weeks early, and decided he needed to stay in the NICU for 11 days to scare his mama half to death cause his lungs weren't completely developed yet!  I will never forget the sight of that 8 lb 14 oz boy next to all of those teeny, tiny preemies....and worn out parents standing over their cribs who had been coming to visit their little ones for months.  Man, so much to be thankful for.

So after all of that....I just wonder what God has in store for Tag...what great things He is going to do with this life He created and planned before the beginning of time.  Well, I sure hope I get to be around to see it!  But for now, I am treasuring each day that we get to laugh our heads off at this boy of ours, all the running-arms-outstretched-squeezes and pats on the back, all the cute little phrases like "hold you, mommy", "jis kidding!", and "um, how about chocolate pudding?"  He is just too cute for words and I love him so much.  Thank you God for Tag Wyatt...

2 years ago today....

Got to hold him for just a bit before they whisked him off to the NICU.

The first time I got to hold him in the NICU...that was a great day!

Coming home 11 days later...

First week home was Halloween....cute pumpkin then....

....and cute pumpkin now!  Celebrating at his "Firetruck birthday"...

Logan and I came up with the idea for this "mosaic" firetruck cake.  Pretty artsy, right?

And a real firetruck came to visit at the party.

Celebrating with Gran...

and Caroline, Natalie, and Bran...

What a cute crew...I'm not partial or anything.

I could seriously eat him up.... thank you God for this gift.  We love him so much!
