15 years!

Today is our Anniversary. Hard to believe that 15 years ago today, I was waking up to a beautiful, sunny day....just giddy for 6 o'clock that evening to arrive! The day that every girl dreams of had finally come. And I was just beside myself happy.

Our wedding was really everything I had ever hoped it would be. The guy of my dreams, a beautiful church, a really fun reception, and all the people we love surrounding us. Just perfect.

So in honor of our anniversary, and the 15 awesome years my man has stuck by me...here are the top 15 things I love about my Luke...

1. That he loves the Lord with all his heart and steers our family in His direction.

2. That he makes me laugh. There is no one else in the world that can make me laugh like Luke. And it's always just silly stuff, but I love it.

3. That he's the best daddy in the world. I love how he loves on our kids and treats them individually. He takes time to notice the details.

4. That he works so hard for us. For someone who begged his parents to not make him go to college...then he ended up putting in 13 years! And now he works his tail off....all just so he can enjoy life with us. Thank you, babe.

5. That he's a great son. He really loves his parents and is very thoughtful of them.

6. That he's so athletic. Those of you who know Luke, know that he can pretty much play any sport or pick up any new athletic trick, and do it well. That's talent. And I'm jealous.

7. That he takes care of himself. Thanks God for packaging that beautiful heart in such a beautiful bod. He's fun to look at. :)

8. That he can fix anything. There's something really attractive about a guy who loves Home Depot. He is amazing. I love watching him build things, fix things, create things. I love his vision.

9. That he's a country boy at heart. I love that we can pitch a tent, get all dirty, wear boots and jeans, fish all day, ride four-wheelers, and shoot guns. I love watching him in all camo...totally in his element exploring the land.

10. That Logan wants to be just like him. (And Tag will too one day....but for now, mama still rocks.) Logan looks up to him in everything he does. I love that he has such an awesome, yet real, role-model in his dad.

11. That he loves cars. I love hearing him rattle off all those numbers and letters when we pass a really cool car. After all these years, you'd think he'd be on to the fact that I have no idea what all those numbers and letters mean. But I just smile and say, "Oh yeah! That is so cool!"

12. That he still does things in threes....for I love you. Like hiding three roses. I love that. Still.

13. That he writes me letters. His letters are the best. (But the handwriting is a little tricky.)

14. That he loves to download all the latest dance songs and play KLEB at night for us while we have a dance party in the living room. He has the widest taste in music....and I love it!

15. That he loves to dance. And he is so stinkin good at it! Boy got rhythm.

I love you Luke! Thanks for putting up with me. :)
Yep forever,
Your G

Faith Anna

Faith Anna played her first season of basketball this year on the Lady Raiders team! They had so much fun together....and she really fell in love with the game. These talented gals went undefeated during the regular season....and then lost in their first playoff game 8-9. You know, Faith Anna is so passionate about sports....and combined with her perfectionism...this made for a tough pill to swallow. She cried and cried afterward. It took her awhile to really compose herself and realize that it was okay. I'm so excited to see where her talent, drive, and determination will take her one day! I know I'm her mom, so of course I'm biased....but she's got the whole package. The talent, the responsibility and discipline to practice, the diligence to keep trying, and the drive to be the best. Hmmmm.....can't wait to see what all she does with it!

Lady Raiders minus our sweet friend Avery who was at a wedding that weekend!

Faith Anna also had her 2nd grade Greek festival a few weeks ago at school. If you follow my blog you might remember her traumatic 1st grade Egyptian festival!!! (Augh. Of course it wasn't that bad, she just forgot her speech and was so disappointed. Which broke this mama's heart. Will we always have that feeling inside that wants to rescue them??) Well, praise God this one was SOOO much better! (Heavy sigh of relief)

She did a great job! Her project that she researched was on the history of Weaving. Very interesting...

Daddy's Girls

The month of February also brought the infamous Daddy Daughter Dance! Our girls look so forward to this all year. They get to get all gussied up in fancy dresses and dance the night away with their daddy. Our church threw in a little something extra this year too...they had a
'Dads and Dolls Hoe Down" a few weekends before the big dance. The girls got to get dressed in their boots and jeans....and do a little square-dancin with their daddy. So much fun!

These girls are so lucky to have Luke as their Daddy. He loves them so much. And he's just plain fun! I hope they will get a glimpse of their heavenly Father's love, through the love they see and feel in their earthly daddy.

Belize...

We had the privilege of going with 4 of our best friends on a fun 4oth birthday trip in February...to Belize! Wow....it was so beautiful and so much fun. Of course, the company was the best part about the trip though. Ok, and the snorkeling. :) Thanks for inviting us, Hotchkisses! Happy Birthday, Molly!
