One of my friends and fellow volunteers down at Cornerstone's Women's Ministry, Jennifer, got married in April! She invited all the ladies from the hood...so we made a day of it and got them all primped and ready. We had them come to the White House where they were able to pick wedding clothes and shoes from nicer donations we'd received over the past few months...and had been setting aside for this occasion! Once dressed, they were able to get their nails, hair, and make-up done if they wanted. Then we had a professional photographer, my friend Sandra Edwards, come and take individual pictures of each lady! (They loved this!) Finally, we had lunch brought in so they'd have full bellies before the wedding. :) Then we headed out in about 5 different vehicles transporting them all to the festivities! For some of them, it was the first wedding they'd ever been to. There were ladies asking, "What do you do at a wedding?", while others just giggled over how pretty they all looked! We had a grand time and loved celebrating Jennifer and Scott's covenant. It was a privilege to stand shoulder to shoulder at this wedding with these women that I've so grown to love over the past few years. My sister-in-law Natalie, and niece Caroline, came with me that morning to help out. Here is Caroline fixing Rosemary's hair. Natalie was on nail-duty and gave several of the women a pretty coat of polish!

The happy couple! It was such a pretty outdoor wedding...

Jennifer and Scott. We wish you the best years of your lives ahead. May God use you both more mightily together as a couple than he ever did in your journeys leading up to this day...Love you guys!
